I love co-op. The kids love co-op. Luca still doesn’t love co-op, but he’s getting there. Even Oz loves co-op. Well, he loves the comfy couch he naps on.
Today was rainy. That meant co-op didn’t go as usual. People arrived late. Last week’s plague was still taking it’s toll. Lunch wasn’t it’s usual park trip. It had everyone a little off.
We had a lot of fun today. The history classes all had French food to accent their lesson about France. In art Corde learned to spin yarn with a drop spindle. Beekee did a neat little weaving project. They both had fun in science, but I have no idea what they did. I feel like we come home and I may not know what the kids did, but I know they’re learning and having fun.
The lunch arrangements didn’t go as usual either. Everyone met up at the mall play area. I kind of felt bad for the normal school kid moms. Here they were, playing with their too-young-for-school kids and a mass of kids descend upon them. Kids go everywhere. Teens take up a plot of the floor outside, learning to play Magic the Gathering with Oz. Moms parked themselves everywhere, enjoying their usual chats. It was great. Then we all packed up and went back to co-op. It was fantastic, dry, and thankfully cooler than the park has been.
On the way home all the kids knocked out but Luca. Luca took a good little nap before lunch on my back in the wrap carrier. I really need a woven wrap. Ours is too stretchy to be comfortable. Then he slept on Oz almost all afternoon. The bigger kids were exhausted. You could see the circles under Corde’s eyes. They were totally wiped. No matter how hard I try to transition them to the early mornings, they just seem stuck on staying up late and sleeping in each morning. I have a feeling the end of Daylight Savings will be the best possible thing for us.
Today was a good day. We needed a day like this. I hope next week ends just as fantastically. The only down side is the way my back, knee and elbow ache. At least I know we’ll all sleep well tonight!
